(bowling) - CLASS 1A QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT (at Sweet 16 Lanes in Le Mars) Le Mars advanced both their guys and gals teams to the 1A State Bowling Tournament in Des Moines for the second consecutive year after both teams won the Qualifying Tournament team titles Tuesday at Sweet 16 Lanes in Le Mars. The Le Mars boys rolled a team score of 3320 to break the school record by 95 pins. Harlan was second with a 2842 and MMCRU finished third with a 2831 score. Noah Holder and Brady Kommes of Le Mars tied for the best game score with 247’s. Holder had the best series score with a 494. Riley Augustine of Le Mars third with a 440, Kommes finished fourth with a 437.
 
The Le Mars girls bowled a 2818 Tuesday to finish ahead of OA-BCIG with a 2280. Only the team champions advance to the State meet Monday, February 20th at Des Moines’ Plaza Lanes. Lexi Schroeder turned in a school record 258 game score to lead the Lady Bulldogs. She broke the old school mark by two pins. Her 451 series score was the best of the field Tuesday and three teammates followed in the final standings with Steph Williams compiling a 403, Sydney Landis had a 383 and Caitlynne Peters finished with a 357.
